  • Completes assessments as assigned.

  • Assist with the development, implementation, review, and modification of techniques for maintaining quality assurance/quality control system.

  • Documents efforts by individuals served to make contact with family, guardians and friends.

MEDICAL DUTIES:

  • Implements the nursing on-call procedure relevant to the individuals served.

  • Monitors individuals served health status.

  • Assesses individuals served for signs and symptoms of illness or injury.

  • Notifies appropriate provider of individual=s served health concerns.

  • Follows up and documents instructions from medical providers.

  • Implements the emergency medical procedures.

  • Demonstrates ability to complete medically related tasks as assigned.

  • Follows each individual=s served special diet orders.

  • Knows or knows where to find the primary and secondary diagnoses for the individuals served.

  • Knows the medication routine for the individuals served.

  • Administers medications and treatments per policy and procedure and as assigned.

  • Documents pertinent information in nursing notes, and medication, treatment, seizure and weight records accurately, as assigned.

  • Takes vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, respiration, etc.).

  • Transports and assists individuals served to doctor appointments, as assigned.

  • Follows the bloodborne pathogens control procedures.

SAFETY DUTIES:

  • Properly uses and maintains all appliances/equipment.

  • Maintains general work area cleanliness, neatness, sanitation and safety.

  • Completes the safety and sanitation checklist as assigned.

  • Reports safety and sanitation problems to the proper authority.

  • Conducts fire drills as assigned.

  • Accurately completes fire drill and unannounced alarms documentation as assigned.

  • Conducts regular security checks of the facility, as assigned.

  • Properly uses a fire extinguisher.

  • Demonstrates understanding of emergency procedures.

  • Abides by all rules and regulations related to vehicle driving, safety, maintenance, accident reporting, etc.

HOUSE RECORDS:

  • Turns in accurate time cards on time including supporting documentation.

  • Respects and maintains confidentiality of all records pertaining to individuals served.

  • Completes assigned Personal Property Records at six month intervals.

  • Reads and documents in the daily log each shift as assigned.

  • Demonstrates understanding of use of grievance and incident report forms.

  • Completes grievance and incident report forms.

  • Demonstrates understanding of use of grievance and incident report forms.

  • Maintains individuals served program books in an orderly fashion.

  • Maintain inventory records of supplies and equipment, as assigned.

GENERAL:

  • Follows own daily schedules.

  • Requests/orders appropriate supplies and equipment as needed.

  • Attend and actively participate in appropriate staff and agency meetings.

  • Follows the chain of command.

  • Follows up on communication from supervisors/on-call administrator.

  • Implements the On-call Administrator Procedure.

  • Reports all incidents of suspected abuse per policy and procedure.

  • Demonstrates openness to new ideas and concepts.

  • Demonstrates ability to use the phone system.

  • Satisfactorily completed all employment requirements.

  • Demonstrates basic knowledge of licensing regulations.

  • Maintains all certifications as required by position.

  • Satisfactorily completed any additional duties as assigned.

  • Continues to develop and apply skills learned through active participation in available inservice training and reading of professional literature.

  • Follows policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook and all other policy and Procedure manuals.

  • Observes a consistent, regular and approved work schedule.
